Desk Based Assessments (DBA), Wales

Desk Based Assessment is an analyses of existing records related to a site. This may be in the form of written accounts, historic maps and photographs, previous archaeological works at the site/ area and existing heritage designations (for example Listed Buildings or Scheduled Monuments). The aim of a desk based assessment is to identify known or potential heritage assets which are likely to be affected by the propose works. Consideration of the settings of heritage assets identified will also be discussed. These works can be compiled into a Heritage Impact Statement.
