Catherine Rees and Matthew Jones founders of CR Archaeology

Covering the north Wales area, CR Archaeology was founded in 2011 and is a partnership between Catherine Rees and Matthew Jones. Archaeological services provided include consultancy, desk based assessments, evaluation, excavation, building recording and analysis, walkover surveys, post excavation services, archaeological illustration (site, artefact and standing buildings), report production, archive research and geophysical survey (gradiometer). We are able to guide you through the planning process and work with other contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time and to a high standard.

The scope of works undertaken varies from small projects commissioned by private individuals through to lager infrastructure projects (road schemes and school buildings). The company maintains a close working relationship with other local and national companies and through working in conjunction with others is able to undertake larger and more complex projects as required. Previous projects have been undertaken on behalf of private individuals, planning consultants, and property developers along with larger bodies such as Cadw and Anglesey, Conwy and Gwynedd Councils.
